Employee Wins Apprenticeship of the Year
Aaron Mepstead, Boilermaker at Cascade Australia wins the Apprentice of the Year for Manufacturing and Engineering at the TAFE Queensland Awards on the 29th November 2018.
Aaron joined Cascade Australia in May 2015 as a Boilermaker and shortly after joining, decided to sign up to Cascade Australia’s advance trade program. This program signs experienced trade’s people up to a Certificate IV in Engineering, often cross skilling them into a new area of the business. Aaron specialised in fitting, which gives him the ability to work as a fitter and boiler maker.
This year, Aaron was nominated for Apprentice of the Year by his teacher at TAFE Queensland for his dedication to learning as well as his humanitarian work with the homeless within the Ipswich area. With two other deserved nominees in the category, Aaron was completely in shock when he came away with a win!
Aaron exemplifies all those values Cascade Australia hold dear, a determination to learn and continually improve oneself; and to show care and respect to people within our community.
Congratulations Aaron! This is an amazing achievement and we are proud to support you.
